Team leaders, welcome to the STEAMworks season! Just as a reminder, when you get emails from me, they only go to you as the Main team contact and, occasionally, to the Alternate contact. You are responsible for making sure that the information gets passed on to students and mentors. Here’s a short note from our Lead Robot Inspectors:
Teams – As you design your robots and start cutting your frame, please take a very close look at R3! The size limitations for the robot INCLUDE the bumpers, which means your robot frame will be significantly smaller! This is very different from the way we’ve measured robots in the past. Also, Stop Build is at 10:59pm Central time, Tuesday night, Feb 21st, not midnight local time like it’s been before. If you have questions or need help as you build your robot, please let us know!
Good luck, and happy building,
Your friendly MN inspection team
And a note from our Volunteer Coordinator:
Volunteers Wanted!
The 4 Minnesota regional events, as well as those in Iowa and Western Wisconsin (the new 7 Rivers Regional) invite mentors and team-associated volunteers (especially parents) to volunteer for the 2017 Regional Events. Crews are needed for queuing, field reset, and the practice field. Teams are invited to apply to staff the safety glasses stations for a half-day of the events, Thursday through Saturday afternoon. Volunteer event applications are through the FIRST VIMS, on the firstinspires website (https://my.firstinspires.org/FIRSTPortal/Login/VIMS_Login.aspx). Also new this year, Teams are invited to have one student per team submit for consideration to be a Regional Event Ambassador (VIP tour guide and information desk assistant). Applications should be made via the FIRST VIMS. Questions, please write to Laurie Shimizu, lshimizu@firstinspires.org
One other reminder:
Please inventory your Kit of Parts by this Friday, Jan 13th, at 11:00am. See this webpage for details on getting replacements (http://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/frc/2017-kit-of-parts).
