Team Leaders, a few items’ deadlines are this week.
Mentor Meetup
The next FUM Mentor Meet Up is this Thursday (November 12) at 7:00 PM. The Google sheet to add topics for discussion (and the Zoom link) is at https://docs.google.com/docume
We would like to try some small group discussions, so please add some topics for more focused discussion.
Please circulate this information to other mentors and coaches in MN, ND and SD and encourage them to attend.
JUMPSTART – Nov 14th
The second JUMPSTART session is Saturday. See https://www.jumpstartrobotics.
FUM Board – open positions
There are two or three spots on the board that are open for recruiting now. We are looking for candidates to participate on the board to oversee FUM activities and create and implement plans to achieve our vision to help FIRST FRC teams be more successful. This is a great opportunity for some new people to get involved in FIRST in our regional area! We are also looking to get some new people involved in the board since the current board members are limited to 6 years maximum on the board according to the FUM by-laws. Please connect with anyone you personally know that would be a good candidate for the board and ask them to apply.
Deadline to apply is noon on Sunday, November 15th.
Here is the link to apply: https://forms.office.com/Pages
Registration numbers
The current number of MN teams registered for this season stands at 117. The team grant deadline is rapidly approaching so please, if you are going to participate, register and apply for the grant.
Team Grants from FIRST
The application deadline for these grants is November 16th. If you are looking for help paying for the season, pay close attention to the following link. Every team in the US is eligible $450 from NASA – just apply (about a two-minute process). There is also a $1000 grant if you did not get a chance to compete last season. There is money for rookies, too. If you know a school that is considering joining the program, this is the year to do it – $3000 entry fee (vs. $6000), no pressure to build a competitive robot, and lots of veteran teams with time to help.
